Erdafitinib works by blocking a protein in some cancer cells that signals the cancer cells to multiply. This may keep cancer cells from growing and may kill them. Erdafitinib is a type of targeted therapy drug called an enzyme inhibitor.

Use in Cancer
Erdafitinib is approved to treat:
- Urothelial carcinoma (a type of bladder cancer) that has spread and has an abnormal FGFR3 gene. It is used in adults whose cancer got worse during or after treatment with at least one type of systemic therapy.
Erdafitinib is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer.
